Client Questions

How long is the Detox Program?

Detox is a 7 day commitment and that is so the doctors can run your medications for a 7 day period to ensure a safe and comfortable detox experience.

How does the detox work?

The doctors will prescribe very specific medications for you to take while you’re at the detox house which will help to prevent and eliminate all the scary withdrawal symptoms associated with detox. The medications will vary depending on what it is that you need to detox from, but the medication will help your body to stay comfortable and relaxed to make this as easy as possible for you. You will be slowly tapered off of this medication throughout your time in detox.

Can I smoke or vape while I’m there?

Yes you can smoke and/or vape. Please make sure to bring enough supplies to last you for the week. Smoking or vaping is NOT allowed indoors and you must go outside in the backyard to the designated smoking/vaping areas.

What if I am already taking prescription medications?

Bring any medications that you are currently taking with you when you come to check in. Our doctors will need to review and approve any medications that you bring, but most medications will be allowed to continue taking. The only exception will be controlled substances that would conflict with the medications that the doctors would be using for your detox.

What do I do when I am there?

There are two comfortable living room areas where clients can enjoy watching TV or Netflix etc. There is also a gaming station with an Xbox. We have books, games, arts and crafts, and other things to help keep you entertained while you’re there. You’re also welcome to bring your own books if you’d like to.

Will I have my own room?

All of the rooms have two beds in them, but for the most part people usually end up having their own room for most of or all of their stay. If there is a time when we have more people there than normal then there is a chance that you will share a room with someone else, but this does not happen very often.

Can I make phone calls or have visitors while I’m there?

While you are there you will not be able to make phone calls or have visitors. If there are emergency situations where communication is needed between family members then you must communicate these things through staff members.

What is the food like?

All the food is provided and the kitchen is open 24/7. You are welcome to go and eat whenever you feel like it. We always have lots of snacks and we also have a request list in case there are certain things that you would like to eat while you are there.

Can I bring my pet?

Pets are not allowed at the detox house.

Will I get to meet with the doctor?

Yes you will meet with the doctor in person with the first 24 hours of checking in. If the doctor needs to start you on medications before meeting with you they will instruct the other staff members on what to do.

Family Member Questions

How long will my family member be there?

Will I be able to call them or visit them while they are there?

No you will not be able to call and talk to them while they are there. Visiting is also not allowed. If you need to communicate something to them then please call the Detox House Manager listed below.

What if there is an emergency situation?

If there is an emergency situation going on then please call the Detox House Manager listed below.

Can I call and see how they are doing?

We do not make phone calls to family members to give updates on progress, but if you would like to call and see how they are doing then please call the Detox House Manager listed below.

What happens after detox?

When they come to detox we will help them build an aftercare plan in order to help them be successful after they get out of detox. Aftercare planning starts with informing them of all the options and resources that are out there where they can continue to get help. These things often include: Residential Treatment, Outpatient Treatment, Medication Management, Counseling, Sober Living, etc.

How will I know when to pick them up?

A staff member will reach out to you before their discharge day and time in order to coordinate pick up and transportation needs.

What if they forgot to bring something?

If they forgot to bring something that you need to drop off at the detox house after they have already been checked in, you are welcome to come to the address listed below and ring the doorbell at the office door and give any items to the staff members that are there. It is very important that this only happens during regular business hours unless otherwise instructed by the detox house manager.
